The town of Bad Honnef is situated on the Rhine and on the foothills of the legendary Siebengebirge. Tourists love the mild climate (with many sunny days every year), the beautiful landscape (ideal for biking and hiking) and the vicinity to cultural events in Bonn and Cologne. Even the German scientist Alexander v. Humboldt (1769-1859) called Bad Honnef "his Venice on the Rhine".
During the past two decades, Bad Honnef has also become one of the most important meeting locations in Germany.
